This lesson teaches the  the importance of scale on a graph. It relates expenditures per student at BMCC versus Columbia University. The numbers are hypothetical, but according to collegemeasures.org, in 2012, expenditures per student at CUNY 4-year colleges were less than  $16,000, while at Columbia, expenditures per student were $97,587.
